TOONLOK™ Fit Guide and Installation Instructions

Before ordering or installing your TOONLOK platform, determine whether your pontoon requires the ST Standard-Fit Platform or the AT Extended-Fit Platform. The correct model depends on the size of your pontoon's upper fence tubing and how high the exterior fence sheeting extends.

Choosing the Correct TOONLOK Platform

ST Standard-Fit Platform

The ST Platform fits most pontoons with standard 1.25-inch square upper fence tubing. On these pontoons, the exterior fence sheeting normally ends below the upper tubing, leaving enough of the square rail exposed for the TOONLOK platform to fit securely around it.

Choose the ST Platform if:

Your upper fence tubing is approximately 1.25 inches wide.
The exterior fence sheeting ends below the top of the upper tubing.
The upper rail has enough exposed tubing for the platform to sit securely.
Your pontoon uses a typical square-tube fence design.

Most pontoon boats use this standard construction and will require the ST Platform.

AT Extended-Fit Platform

The AT Platform is designed for pontoons with wider upper fence construction or exterior sheeting that extends completely to the top of the fence.

Choose the AT Platform if:

Your exterior fence sheeting extends all the way to the top of the upper fence rail.
Your upper fence assembly measures more than 1.25 inches wide.
The combined width of the tubing and sheeting is up to approximately 1.5 inches.
A standard 1.25-inch platform would not fit completely around the fence assembly.

The AT model provides additional clearance for this wider fence construction. This style is commonly found on certain Avalon, Tahoe and similarly constructed pontoons, but the boat brand alone should not determine which platform you order. Always inspect and measure your actual fence.

How to Measure Your Pontoon Fence

Measure the total width of the upper fence assembly where you plan to install TOONLOK. Measure across the square tubing and include the exterior sheeting if the sheeting reaches the top of the rail.

If the exposed upper tubing is approximately 1.25 inches wide and the sheeting stops below it, select ST.
If the sheeting reaches the top and the complete assembly is more than 1.25 inches but no more than approximately 1.5 inches wide, select AT.

Measure more than one location if you plan to install several sections. Fence dimensions and obstructions can vary around the boat.

If your measurement is close to the limit, your fence has an unusual shape or you are still unsure which model fits, contact us at support@listmarinesolutions.com before ordering. Include your measurement and a clear picture of the top and side of your pontoon fence.

Before Installation

Read all instructions before beginning. Confirm that you have the correct ST or AT platform and inspect the intended installation location from both sides of the fence.

Choose a location that:

Provides solid, undamaged fence tubing.
Allows the platform to sit flat and securely.
Provides access for the included mounting hardware.
Does not interfere with gates, seats, covers or moving components.
Is clear of electrical wiring, navigation-light wiring, control cables and other hidden equipment.

Never drill until you have inspected both sides of the fence and confirmed that the drilling area is clear.

Included Platform Hardware

Each TOONLOK platform kit includes:

2 stainless-steel mounting bolts
2 washers
2 nylon-insert lock nuts
4 self-tapping screws for additional support

The AT Platform also includes:

3 shims — use only as needed to eliminate side-to-side clearance

Shims are included with and intended only for the AT Platform. The ST Platform does not include or use shims.

Some accessories include their own thumb screws, bolts or optional mounting hardware. Refer to the instructions supplied with each accessory.

Recommended Tools

Depending on your pontoon and installation location, you may need:

Tape measure
Pencil or removable marker
Drill
1/4-inch drill bit
Screwdriver or driver bit
Wrench or socket for the included lock nuts
Safety glasses

Some pontoon models require drilling with a 1/4-inch drill bit, which is not included.

Installing a TOONLOK Platform

1. Confirm the Fit

Place the TOONLOK platform over the upper fence rail without installing or tightening any hardware. Confirm that it fits completely around the fence assembly, sits level and is not being forced, spread apart or distorted.

Before tightening the mounting nuts, the platform must fit snugly against the fence assembly with no side-to-side play.

For an ST Platform, do not use shims. If the ST Platform does not fit correctly, has side-to-side play or is being installed on fencing wider than 1.25 inches, stop and confirm whether the AT Platform is required.

For an AT Platform, pontoon fence dimensions can vary. Some AT installations require one, two or three of the supplied shims to eliminate side-to-side clearance. Other AT installations may not require any shims.

Do not force an incorrectly sized platform onto the fence, and do not use the mounting hardware to correct a loose test fit.

2. AT Platform: Add Shims if Required

This step applies only to the AT Platform. If you are installing an ST Platform, do not install any shims and proceed to the next step.

Test-fit the AT Platform before installing or tightening the mounting hardware. Try moving the platform gently from side to side.

If the AT Platform has side-to-side clearance, insert one supplied shim between the TOONLOK platform and the pontoon fence assembly. Make sure the shim is fully seated and lies flat, then test the fit again.

If side-to-side movement remains, add a second shim and test the fit again. Add the third shim only if it is still needed.

Use only the number of shims required to create a snug fit. Depending on the AT fence dimensions, the installation may require:

No shims
One shim
Two shims
Three shims

The properly fitted AT Platform must sit level and securely against the fence with no side-to-side play before the mounting nuts are tightened.

Important:

Use shims only with the AT Platform.
Do not install shims with the ST Platform.
Do not use the mounting nuts to pull a loose-fitting platform tight.
Do not overtighten the hardware to compensate for an incorrect or loose fit.
Do not force unnecessary shims into the platform.
Keep every installed shim flat and fully seated while positioning and tightening the platform.
If the AT Platform remains loose after using all three shims, stop installation and contact support@listmarinesolutions.com.
If the AT Platform will not seat correctly with the required shims, stop installation and contact support before drilling or tightening any hardware.

3. Choose and Inspect the Mounting Location

Move the platform to the desired position. Check the inside of the fence for wires, cables, upholstery, brackets or other obstructions.

Make sure you can reach the mounting points and install the washers and lock nuts correctly. Verify that the finished platform will not interfere with a gate, boat cover or passenger seating area.

4. Position and Align the Platform

Hold the platform firmly in its final position. Make sure it is straight, level and fully seated against the upper fence rail.

Align the platform's mounting holes with any usable existing openings. If suitable openings are not already present, mark the required hole locations carefully.

For an AT installation requiring shims, keep all shims flat and fully seated while positioning the platform, aligning the mounting holes and marking any required drilling locations.

5. Drill if Required

Some pontoon models require drilling through the fence assembly using a 1/4-inch drill bit.

Before drilling:

Recheck the platform position.
Inspect behind the drilling location.
Confirm that no wiring or equipment is in the drill path.
Wear safety glasses.
Keep the drill straight and controlled.

Drill only the holes required for the included mounting bolts. Remove any loose metal or plastic debris before installing the hardware.

6. Install the Stainless-Steel Hardware

Before tightening the lock nuts, confirm that the platform has no side-to-side play. For an AT installation, confirm that the correct number of shims is installed and that every shim is flat and fully seated. The mounting hardware secures a properly fitted platform; it should not be used to correct a loose fit.

Insert and align the included stainless-steel mounting bolts through the platform and fence. Install the washers and nylon-insert lock nuts in the proper positions.

Begin tightening both bolts gradually so the platform pulls against the fence evenly. Alternate between the mounting points rather than fully tightening one side first.

Tighten until the platform is firmly seated and does not move by hand.

Do not overtighten. Excessive tightening can distort the platform, damage the pontoon fence or place unnecessary stress on the mounting points.

7. Add the Self-Tapping Screws

The four included self-tapping screws can be installed through the provided top mounting locations for additional support.

Before installing them, confirm that the screw locations are clear of hidden wiring and other equipment. Drive each screw until it is seated securely.

Do not continue driving after the screw is seated, and do not overtighten.

8. Connect Additional 6-Inch Sections

TOONLOK is designed as a modular system. A single 6-inch platform can be used by itself, or multiple sections can be connected to create a longer accessory platform.

When installing several sections:

Place the sections in the order and location you want.
Align the male and female interlocking ends.
Engage the connectors carefully and bring the sections together.
Confirm that the top tracks align and the sections sit evenly.
Test-fit the complete assembly on the pontoon before drilling.
Secure each section using its included mounting hardware.

Do not force misaligned connectors together. If the sections do not engage properly, separate them, check the alignment and try again.

Install every section securely. The side connectors align the sections but do not replace the required mounting hardware.

9. Install TOONLOK Accessories

Position the accessory in the TOONLOK track and align its base with the platform. Install and tighten the accessory's included thumb screws or mounting hardware.

Tighten the accessory until it is secure and cannot slide or lift during normal use. Do not overtighten thumb screws.

Always follow any additional instructions supplied with the accessory.

Final Safety Check

Before using the boat:

Confirm that every platform section is mounted securely.
Check that all bolts, lock nuts and screws are properly seated.
Verify that connected sections are aligned.
Confirm that every accessory is locked securely into the track.
Make sure no hardware interferes with passengers, gates, seating or the boat cover.
Check that no wiring or other equipment was damaged during installation.
For every AT Platform section, confirm that the correct number of shims has been installed.
Confirm that every installed shim remains flat, fully seated and secure.
Verify that the platform had no side-to-side play before the mounting nuts were tightened.
Pull firmly from side to side and confirm that the finished platform cannot shift independently of the pontoon fence.
Confirm that no shims have been installed with an ST Platform.

Pull firmly on the platform and each installed accessory by hand. Nothing should shift, lift or move independently of the fence.

Recheck all mounting hardware after the first trip and periodically throughout the boating season. Vibration, repeated accessory changes and normal boat use can loosen hardware over time.

TOONLOK platforms and accessories are not intended to be used as steps, seats, grab handles, tie-down points or lifting devices. Never exceed the safe operating limits of the accessory or equipment installed on the system.
